Restaurant - Beer Only

Beer Only restaurant licenses are issued for the storage, sale, service, and consumption of 3.2% beer on the premises of a restaurant that is engaged primarily in serving meals to the general public. Beer Only restaurant licenses run from March 1st to February 28th and renewals must be submitted by January 31st each year.

Patrons may only purchase beer in conjunction with an order for food that is prepared, sold and served at the restaurant. Each restaurant must maintain at least 70% of its total restaurant business from the sale of food.

NEW IN 2017 - Beer only restaurants may sell beer from 11:30 a.m. to 12:59 a.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, legal holidays and private parties, the hours are 10:30 a.m. to 12:59 a.m.

NEW IN 2017 - A new visible dispensing area will be allowed under some restrictions. However, approval must be obtained from DABC before any changes are made to the original floor plan. This new dispensing area will also require the use of an approved electronic age verification device ( I.D. scanner) to verify proof of age of persons who appear to be 35 years of age or younger. Applications for a new beer only restaurant license must be completed and submitted no later than the 10th of the month in order to be considered on the next monthly Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission agenda. Local licensing will also be required. Check with your local business licensing before applying with DABC. Incomplete applications will be rejected or returned for additional information. Please follow your application checklist carefully.
